CAMBRIDGE, Mass., February 23, 2022 – The MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics (MIT CTL) in collaboration with global logistics company C.H. Robinson has created a custom, advanced certificate program in supply chain management for the company’s employees.
The course commenced with 54 students from various departments within C.H. Robinson. It draws on the ground-breaking online MITx MicroMasters® Program in Supply Chain Management, and is the first custom course offered by MIT CTL designed specifically for a global logistics services provider.
“We take MicroMasters content that matches a company’s specific needs and organize it into lesson blocks,” explains Dr. Eva Ponce, Executive Director of the MicroMasters Program. “The company chooses the most relevant modules, and we structure the program based on these requirements.” Companies can also choose the program’s duration, the weekly study effort required to complete it, and the mix of instruction that is the best fit for their educational goals.
In 2022, C.H. Robinson professionals in the program will learn about the latest models, tools, and techniques that can help enhance results for their customers. The courses include lessons on inventory management, supply chain strategy and process analytics, with an emphasis on new trends and technologies.
“We’re excited to continue to expand our relationship with MIT CTL as part of our 15 years of doing transportation research together,” says Steve Raetz, Director of Market Research and Analytics at C.H. Robinson. “They are well-grounded in the business world and applied supply chain research, which will help continue to differentiate the C.H. Robinson team.”
The first course in the program will run for three months. On July 11, 2022, a second, three-month course will commence.
During both courses, the C.H. Robinson cohort will interact with MIT CTL researchers and connect the course content with their roles and daily jobs. Also, participants will have the opportunity to share professional insights and experiences during six live events.
“We are proud to work with C.H. Robinson to provide this educational opportunity for its employees,” says Ponce. “Forward-thinking companies like C.H. Robinson recognize that ongoing professional education is vital to competitiveness in today’s fast-changing business environment.”
C.H. Robinson is a member of the MIT CTL Supply Chain Exchange.
