Dr. Mauricio Gamez is a Postdoctoral Associate at the MIT Food and Retail Operations Lab. His research focuses on developing optimization models for vehicle routing, distribution network design, and inventory management (warehousing). Dr. Mauricio Gamez received his PhD in Applied Economics from the University of Antwerp in Belgium, where he developed optimization models and heuristic algorithms to solve inventory problems such as storage allocation and picking routing.
During his professional experience, Dr. Mauricio worked for several companies (manufacturing and services) where he worked on supply chain problems related to logistics network design, packaging optimization, last mile vehicle routing, and scheduling problems in manufacturing. Dr. Mauricio has published his work in journals such as European Journal of Operational Research and Computers & Operations Research.
